WROC TV Rochester NY is a CBS affiliate television station broadcasting out of Rochester, NY. The TV station is owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group and is their flagship New York station. The station’s studios are located on Humbolt Street in Rochester while the company’s transmitter is located on Pinnacle Hill in Brighton, New York.

Though today Rochester boasts many channels, WROC TV Rochester NY is notable for being Rochester’s first television station. WROC TV was originally launched in 1949 as WHAM TV Channel 6. The station would next move to channel 5 in 1954 due to changes by the Federal Communications Commission.
